5 Affirmations for When Your Body Image Sucks
Letโs face it, weโve all been there. You look in the mirror and instantly start criticizing yourself. This is not good for your mental, or physical, health, babe. Letโs talk about what we can do even on the days when our body feels โbleh.โ
These are 5 affirmations I use to help get me back in a better headspace of loving my body.
Be grateful for your body, no matter what stage itโs currently in. This is so simple, yet powerful. I say to myself that Iโm grateful for my body, and then I name a few positive attributes (Iโm strong, Iโm powerful, etc.). This is one of my go-to morning affirmations, bad body image day or not.
Your value is not determined by the number on a scale - itโs measured by the love you show yourself. Iโve said it before, and Iโll say it again, the number on the scale should not be your #1 fitness goal. In fact, I think itโs one of the least important goals that should be on the list. And that number definitely shouldnโt determine anyoneโs worth.
Your body is a masterpiece, a work in progress, and you are the artist. Remind yourself that youโre a work in progress, mentally and physically. Weโre constantly working to make ourselves better, and we shouldnโt punish ourselves for not being at the perceived โfinish lineโ yet. Masterpieces take time - remember that.
Your body is the vessel of your dreams - treat it with kindness and gratitude. You only get this one body in this lifetime. Treat your body like you would your best friend - listen to it, be kind to it, and be grateful for it.
True beauty is found in authenticity. Be unapologetically yourself. True authenticity is BEAUFTIFUL. And being authentic means acknowledging that sometimes you struggle. Youโre not perfect. And all the imperfect parts of you are what makes you unique. Be you, and donโt worry about what anyone else thinks.
